Interface & Disruptions ManagementProjects are complex by nature and involve an ever- growing number of stakeholders. Our expertise in managing these interactions ensures successful completion of the project scope. Zero In Solutions has recognised during its’ involvement throughout the project lifecycle on many projects that interface management is a critical component of any project and can lead to its success. Traditionally, projects are managed in a silo mentality where each section of a project operates independently of each other. This can be a result of various factors including multiple management systems, several contractors, and geographical boundaries. Ultimately, the role of the Project Manager is to integrate all the parts of a project to meet the project objectives but as projects have become larger and more complex the interface of projects has become challenging. Interface management can mean different things to different people but essentially it is about identifying who internally within your organisation you need to deal with and consider who the external stakeholders are that your project will interact with, consider all the different interests, and bring on board the right parties at the right stages of the project. It involves the ability to be able to work with others to be able to understand their drivers and levels of influence over your project, read the state of play and obtain the outcomes your project is seeking to achieve. All facets of the Project also need to be considered pending on what stage of the lifecycle with consideration of risks and opportunities. Our team can draw on its experience in delivering projects at all stages of the project lifecycle and has an appreciation of the steps required to execute the entire project. A significant number of disputes result from issues relating to interface management, and more specifically poor planning, and execution of interface management. Our unique service offering involves putting specific focus on identifying and managing the interfaces in projects, challenging the WBS and the program to ensure these are planned and executed appropriately with the correct level of resources and budget. |
